While standard mechanical or ADR instrument was the primary gauge, leveling calibration factors were applied monthly based on tide staff comparisons. Comment : Daily differences with San Diego and Port San Luis suggest Santa Monica has segments with reference level shifts for 15 Jul 1983 - 02 May 1985 (578A low by about 100 mm) and 01 Jan 1992 - 01 May 1992 (578A high by about 125 mm). Use at your discretion. Tsunami signals are evident 28 Feb 2010 (Chile) and 11 Mar 2011 (Japan).
