A level adjustment was based on comparisons of monthly means to the holdings of the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) and the hourly resdiuals: added to YYYY MM DD HH YYYY MM DD HH original (mm) 1929/10/01/18Z-1930/01/01/05Z 75 The mean level agrees well with the PSMSL series. In March 2011, an update for 1965-2007 was given by MEDS. The historic data 1909-1964 was adjusted to the 1965-2007 datum by adding -3050 mm to the hourly data 1909-1964. Comment : The hourly residuals show mild fluctuations within the tidal frequency band prior. It is estimated that the timing is off occassionally by about one- to fifteen-minutes. Only extreme fluctuations are noted below. Daily means 1993-2018 compare well with altimeter data, suggesting a stable reference level.
