The controlling benchmark is BM 7, 1971, which is 5.191m above chart datum and 3.096m above geodetic datum. Comment : The hourly residuals show mild fluctuations within the tidal frequency band prior to 1990. It is estimated that the timing is off occassionally by about five- to fifteen-minutes. Only extreme fluctuations are noted below. The Station was reconstructed in 1971. Stilling wells are connected to the ocean by long horizontal intake pipes (through bedrock). Comparisons of daily means to altimeter data 1993-2018 suggest a stable reference level.
