Bench mark information is available upon request from the contributors. Comment : The daily and monthly means for Kuatan agree well with an adjacent station, Tioman. No reference level shifts are apparent. The periodic signatures in the residuals are believed to be due to the inability of the harmonic analysis to resolve completely some of the tidal constituents. The spikes in December 2000 - January 2001 may be due to a clogged well or due to locally strong wind setup near the instrument.
