Trans. : No Distribution : 1944-2019 Refernce Levl: The sea level heights are referred to the zero point assigned to the tide gauge, which is 3.002 m below BM K80/1 (geodetic code ABPB), a stainless steel pin set in concreete under iron cover, in Featherston Street at the intersection with Lambton Quay, Wellington. July 2020: LINZ reports BM K 80/1 has proven unstable so have adopted BM K 80/2 as the reference. The series has the same reference zero throughout, however, the location for 8/1990-8/1994 was Waterloo Wharf. For all other years, the location has been Queens Wharf. Comment : The daily and monthly values do not show any obvious shifts or trends. Data are relative sea level. This means any vertical changes of the land are included in this time series. Data received at JASL in July 2020 replaces JASL updates made in 2019. LINZ has made a re-assessment of the Kaikoura earthquake of 13 Nov 2016 and its influence on vertical land movement. The JASL update made in 2019 had added 0.027 m to 11/2016-2018 data as received from LINZ. The JASL update made in 2020 subtracted 0.014 m for 14 Nov 2016 - 2019 from the original data received from LINZ.
