While standard mechanical or ADR instrument was the primary gauge, leveling calibration factors were applied monthly based on tide staff comparisons. Comment : The daily and monthly means reveal no apparent reference level changes or trends. However, the residuals showed a substantial drop on the day of the 1960 tsunami. 240 mm were added to the original data from 16Z 23 May - 16Z 24 May 1960.
