Numbo station primary benchmark is Ba.m3n3-16, 4.377m above Chart Datum. Chaleix station series was leveled to the French "zero de reductions des sondes 1961." The 1975-2003 UHSLC data, which were originally linked to the UHSlC staff, were subsequently linked to the French 1961 datum. The Chaleix series was adjusted to Numbo, based on an overlap (154 days,Jan-Jun 2005), which defined a mean difference of 2.60 cm +/- 1.01 cm with Numbo higher than Chaleix (Aucan, Pouvreau, 2013, draft technical report). Comment : The initial tide observatory in Noumea was based at the Pointe de Chaleix, or "Chaleix". The UHSLC and IRD/BHNC each maintained adjacent gauges at location: 22 17.5S, 166 26.2E. The Chaleix site was discontinued in 2005. The Numbo site was established in 2001. A RONIM Khrone BM100 radar gauge and a Marella acquisition unit were installed in 2005. A cyclone caused the sharp peak on March 14, 2003.
